New Year Fireworks

Head out to James Island County Park for a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. Entry to the park is included with admission to the Festival of Lights. The fireworks are scheduled for 8.30pm.

Charleston Wonderland

Another popular party returning once again this new year is the Charleston Wonderland at Festival Hall, the event gets underway at 8.30pm and continues right through until 12.30am.

This wonderland experience includes a plethora of live entertainment. At midnight there will be a champagne toast and the largest ball drop in the whole of Charleston.

Happy New Year, Charleston! in Marion Square

Elsewhere, Marion Square is the site of a family-friendly, alcohol free new year party cheerily entitled Happy New Year, Charleston!

This family friendly, free of charge and alcohol-free party will be featuring live music, plenty of childrens entertainment, art installations and of course plenty of food and drink. The event runs from 5pm - 10pm - more info available here.

Another popular option is to spend your new years eve on the water with a cruise on Charleston Harbour, There are several options for new year party cruises, we especially like the look of the Spiritline Cruises New Years Eve Dinner cruise with live music, bar specials and great views, although they also have a new years eve Bluegrass Cruise with live music that looks like a great option too.
