Looking for a luxurious setting this New Years Eve, then Monaco is a great place to visit. During December Monaco shows off it's Christmas magic, with lights and decorations that make for a beautiful sight and you can peruse the Christmas Markets too!

A trip to Monaco has been on my wish list for a long time now, it's a beautiful principality located between France and Italy (mainly France) and is famed for the annual F1 Grand Prix and celebrity visitors who come to gamble big money at the Grand Casino (Casino de Monte-Carlo), think James Bond style, well actually a couple of James Bond films have been filmed there.

It's a hotspot for the rich and famous, with lavish yachts in the port and super cars on the road, this is a fantastic place to visit if you're looking to experience luxury and extravagance.

Take the time to visit some of Monaco's attractions including the Exhibition of HSH The Prince of Monaco's Vintage Car Collection and the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. Take a walk through Saint-Martin Gardens or the Princess Grace Botanical Gardens, but remember to have a nosey at Monte Carlo Harbor, especially at night, grab a drink and spend some time people watching!

Casino Square NYE Party

Being in Monaco conjures images of style and sophistication, so if you've got money to spend you'll find some exquisite clubs with great DJs to bring in the new year in the lap of luxury.

The biggest event however, on New Years Eve, is usually the gathering in Casino Square, Monte Carlo, where there is music, dancing and fireworks at midnight. So grab your bottle of bubbly and join in the festive fun. You can also wander round the harbour area, it will be busy with other revellers, and you will get some great views of the fireworks that the super yachts let off.

Christmas Village

The Christmas Village at Port Hercule is a great place for families to bring in the new year, with live music with DJs, ice skating and fireworks at midnight.
