Mumbai on new years eve has an almost bewildering range of parties and celebrations to chose from across this huge and sprawling city, and no shortage of fireworks to watch come midnight on NYE.

Mumbai is a packed city with a staggering population of almost 12 million people, it can be a little overwhelming for some, but the sights on offer are worth the visit. From the magnificent Gateway of India to shopping on Colaba Causeway form some hidden gem (but don't forget to barter a little, as is the custom).

Get some great views from a drive over the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a 5.6km cable stayed bridge joining Bandra in the West of Mumbai to Worli in South Mumbai. Evening is usually a good time to see it all lit up in all its glory.

There are some truly spectacular roof top bars where you can sit and enjoy a drink or two whilst overlooking the view over Mumbai. Or go see a show at the Prithvi Theatre which also has a great cafe serving delicious food.

Imagica Theme Park NYE

The Gateway of India is a great spot to gather on New Years Eve to watch some fireworks along with other locals and tourists. Or take a walk along Marine Drive, which is beautifully lit up to watch the fireworks, it gets busy here so there's a real party vibe.
