Florida is one of those states that has fully embraced the US new years eve tradition of dropping things, modelled primarily on the New York Times Square ball drop and continued in unique Floridian style with a range of objects from oranges to shoes being dropped from a height to mark the new year.
Florida of course also benefits from a warm winter climate, so is an enduringly popular winter sun location, drawing visitors bith from across the wider United States and worldwide to spend the festive season enjoying some warmer weather as well as the wide range of new year parties, which include some of the biggest and best fireworks displays in the country.
